POSITION SUMMARY

At Begum Law Group, our Personal Injury Litigation Paralegal is an indispensable member of our legal team, directly contributing to our firm's dedication to justice and client advocacy. This role centers on assisting attorneys through all phases of the litigation process, from the initial case evaluation to post-trial procedures. Responsibilities encompass drafting and reviewing legal documents, organizing evidence, conducting pivotal research, and serving as a primary liaison between the client and the firm. The ideal candidate possesses a meticulous attention to detail, a profound understanding of personal injury law, and a passion for client-centered service. By collaborating closely with our attorneys, the Personal Injury Litigation Paralegal plays a vital role in building compelling cases and ensuring our clients receive the representation they deserve.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

1. Case Management:

  • Assist attorneys in all stages of personal injury litigation cases from onset to post-trial.
  • Collaborate with the litigation team to ensure cases progress in a timely manner.

2. Document Management:

  • Draft and review legal documents, including pleadings, discovery requests, responses, motions to compel discovery, and subpoenas.
  • Organize and maintain case files and litigation databases.

3. Research:

  • Conduct legal research to support case preparation using various research tools.
  • Identify, locate, and formally request records and documents relevant to litigation including Texas DMV records, FOIA requests, cell phone records requests, and subpoenas.

4. Client Liaison:

  • Maintain regular communication with clients to inform them of case status and gather information.
  • Assist clients with treatment status and medical bills, ensuring they receive proper care.

5. Trial Preparation:

  • Assist attorneys in preparing for trial by drafting trial briefs, preparing exhibits, and coordinating witnesses.
  • Attend trials, providing assistance as needed.

6. Administrative Duties:

  • Schedule appointments, hearings, and depositions.
  • Communicate and coordinate with opposing counsel and court personnel.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)

  • A paralegal certificate or associate's degree in paralegal studies. Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of three years of experience as a paralegal in personal injury litigation.
  • Proficient in legal research tools and litigation software.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of federal and state court rules and procedures.
  • Have the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Energetic, hands-on, self-starter who can succeed with minimal supervision.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Suite products (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with clients.
  • Excellent time management is a must.
